New Eagle’s Annual Martin Luther King Service Pro
In years past, New Eagle families have been generous supporters of the annual Martin Luther King Service Project. New Eagle students would assemble lunch bags for donation to the Grace and Cecil Bean Soup Kitchen in Norristown. The soup kitchen proudly serves about 600 meals per week to the homeless, disabled, elderly, poor, and anyone in need.
As a PTO sponsored event that was 100% funded by New Eagle families, monetary donations were used to purchase soup, hot chocolate, granola bars, apple sauce, and other food supplies at wholesale prices. Each year, over 1,000 beautifully decorated lunch bags were filled by New Eagle students with the help of a team of parent volunteers. The soup kitchen has always been extremely appreciative of New Eagle’s continuous support.
Although New Eagle is unable to provide bagged lunches this year, monetary and toiletry donations can still be made to help support the Grace and Cecil Bean Soup Kitchen.
- Monetary donations via PayPal can be made directly on the Grace and Cecil Bean Soup Kitchen website by going to the Grace and Cecil Bean Soup Kitchen website. Monetary donations will be used to purchase food/supplies in bulk that are needed the most.
- Toiletry donations are being accepted in the New Eagle lobby through Friday, February 5th. NEW, UNUSED, UNOPENED travel or full size toiletries will be accepted. There is a particular need for toilet paper, paper towels, personal hygiene items, and feminine care products.
