The Garden Committee
The Giving Garden takes an incredible village and we are deeply grateful to anyone of any experience level who would like to get their hands dirty and join us.
In addition to coordinating day-to-day garden management, the Garden Committee also organizes a Springtime Garden Festival where students work in the garden and rotate through parent volunteer led stations to learn about the garden, recycling, and more environmentally based topics.
In 2022 the students grew over 120 lbs. of fresh veggies throughout the 3 growing seasons:
SPRING
1.5lbs of spinach
3.5lbs of snap peas
4lbs of radishes
4lbs of bib lettuce
7lbs of romaine lettuce
10.5 lbs of green cabbage
SUMMER
3.5lbs of eggplant
14.75lbs of peppers
15.5lbs of tomatoes
17.75lbs of beans
12.75lbs of squash
3lbs of parsley
FALL
3.5lbs of radishes
3lbs of butterhead lettuce
2.5lbs of romaine lettuce
