Once a year NEES hosts an Artist in Residence program that culminates in a year end project with 4th grade. The artist visits for one week holding workshops with all of the students in each grade and has an intensive program for 4th grade. This year our Artist in Residence is Hip Hop Fundamentals. Hip Hop Fundamentals is an award-winning team of diverse professional Breakdancers dedicated to Hip Hop Education. Groups of students learn the basics of Breaking through drills, games, and team-building exercises. Students will create their own moves and learn the cultural roots of Hip Hop.
This is a very fun volunteer opportunity…no dancing skills required! ;o)
To volunteer please sign up with your child’s class. Note that most classrooms have several sessions over several days. Plenty of opportunities for parents to share in this amazing program!
