Chairs: Melanie Fritz and Laura Yancoskie
Hello Fourth Grade Parents!
This 4th Grade class is off to a great start and with Melanie Fritz and Laura Yancoskie at the helm, this should be a great year. There are a number of activities through the year, and at the end of the year that need your help and support.
The PTO and fourth grade parents make the following special things possible for each fourth grader:
- Yearbook
- 4th Grade special keepsake
- Pool Party
- Movie Night
- Class Gift
School Store
This is a fundraiser for 4th Grade activities. The store is being run by Karyn Norton and will happen on Fridays through the year. You can sign up to staff the store on this sign up sheet.
Election Day Bake Sale – Nov 8th
This is a fundraiser for 4th Grade activities. New Eagle is a polling station for 3 areas, so this is a great opportunity to sell baked items and raise money. In the past this has been a mix of donated and homemade. A fun one day event!
4th Grade Movie Nights
This is a fundraiser for 4th grade activities. We are looking for 2 parents to spearhead each event – two nights December 16 and Jan 27 – with the help of parent volunteers the night of the event.
4th Grade Special Item
This item is a custom towel with signatures of each student by class. The item this year will be a custom towel that will be given to each student for the Pool Party. This will be 1-2 parents to organize the design, ordering and distribution. In the past it has been a t-shirt with a design created by a 4th grade student.
4th Grade Class Gift
Every year the 4th grade presents a gift to New Eagle. Examples of gifts in the past have been placards that hang outside of each teacher’s classroom, a buddy bench for the playground and iPads for the school. Last year the 4th grade gift was two new basketball hoops to replace the old ones. The work involved is survey of the parents of 4th grade, and some help with fundraising for the selected gift.
Yearbook
The yearbook is given free to all 4th graders. We are looking for 4-5 volunteers to handle the yearbook This is one of the bigger projects, but the deadlines fall throughout the year so it is very manageable. And no need to reinvent the wheel as the yearbook is templated. Having good tech skills would be helpful, but not necessary.
Pool Party
Every year the 4th graders have a pool party in the late afternoon – evening after the 4th Grade Promotion (6/9/23). Jennifer Havey has volunteered to spearhead the even, and we will need lots of parent volunteers the day of the pool party.
4th Grade Talent Show
This fun event is organized by the teachers, but parents are invited to the afternoon show. We are looking for 4-5 parents to help decorate and hand out water.
4th Grade Promotion
This is essentially graduation day for our 4th graders. We are looking for 4-5 parents to help decorate and hand out water. During the online auction in the spring, parking spaces and prime seating are auctioned off. The 4th grade teachers organize this event.
In total, the cost for these is $8000 – about $80 for each child. Your support for these activities allows them to be available to all.
Thank you!
